Accreditation

Business qualifications from the University of Otago are internationally recognised, and our graduates aligned with those from prestigious business schools around the globe.
Our accreditation with two international agencies – EQUIS and AACSB - is a firm reassurance to stakeholders of the quality of education at the School of Business.

Accreditation is an assurance of standards, an instant indicator that a business school is of exceptional quality and committed to continual improvement in order to maintain that high level. Because business operates in the global marketplace, it is imperative that a business qualification such as the Otago MBA is recognised internationally.  Accreditation provides a means for comparing and benchmarking schools on an international scale.

Accreditation is not easy:

  • Globally 118 business schools have EQUIS accreditation, from 34 countries
  • Approximately 570 business schools have AACSB accreditation, but only around 100 of these are outside the USA
  • Only 59 hold both

Whatever way you crunch the numbers, it is clear that the Otago MBA from the University of Otago’s School of Business is truly world-class.
